Thank you for your patience, we are doing our best in these difficult times, with limited resources, to sort out our business.
There have been many obstacles along the way:
* Our Business Interruption Insurance, which covers a whole host of disasters including diseases, sadly does not cover pandemics;
* We have been told by Cornwall Council that our hotel is not eligible for the Small Business Grant+ because Trevanion House Holidays is registered to provide care;
* The promise of the Government-backed Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme has proven to be onerous, and even risky to the business, to access.
We keep working to find a way through this crisis and look forward to celebrating 30 years - as the leading provider of supported holidays to the learning disabilities community - in 2021.
+ The Council has since allowed the lower Grant of £10K, for which we are grateful, but to put that in perspective it is the same amount that is being paid to all owners of second homes and holiday lets. Trevanion House, as for other small hotels, should have been eligible for the £25K Grant. This would have made a huge difference to our business, but missed out on this because our rateable value for council tax is £1 [one pound] under the starting rate of £15,001.
